Year 10 Is Excelling This Term

All students have been learning to use acrylic paints by exploring various techniques such as flicking, splattering, and sponging.  They have studied abstract painters like Jackson Pollock, Howard Hodgkin, WayAnne Thompson, and Gillian Ayers.  Drawing inspiration from rock formations, biological cells, and close-up sections of plants, the students created their own abstract square paintings.  Ivy has earned the title of “Color Queen” for her stunning painting, while Joseph’s texture work is exquisite.  Kyle’s sponged bookmark sample is a beautiful piece, reminiscent of a Monet sky.
