A table decoration project

One of our Year 8 classes has worked exceptionally hard in Textiles this half term.  They are currently engaged in a project for Mr Wright, where the brief is to create a table decoration for the Macmillan coffee morning.  Their theme is cupcakes, and they have been making pom poms in three different sizes to construct a tiered cake. The students used measuring techniques to create circles from recycled cardboard, which they then wrapped with wool.  Students have also learned about the percentages of wool needed to achieve just the right mix and fluffiness for their pom poms.

Our students could not have created these masterpieces without the unwavering support of our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs. McMahon and Mrs. Lavery.
