World Book Day

There will be a share a story again, which involves teachers reading a section of a short story in each lesson.
By the end of the day, all students will have heard the whole story and this year we will be using one of the
Horowitz Horror short stories as we know this is very popular.
There will be two competitions running: create a character and book in a box. For create a character students
will need to make a representation of their favourite book character from items they find at home and for
book in a box, students will create a scene from a book inside a box using materials they have around the
house. Further information will be given out during English lessons, and form time.
There will also be a quiz and again information on this will be given out nearer to the time.
We also have book tokens for the WBD book selection which we will give to students during English lessons.
This is always a very exciting time within the English department and we know that students enjoy the different
activities that take place too.
