Headteacher’s update

Year 11 Arrangements
I have been delighted with our Year 11 students this week who have been exemplary, in what has been a challenging few days due to the number and length of examinations. I am sure all their hard work and determination will pay off in the summer.

On Friday 16th June Year 11 students may leave at lunchtime and can sign shirts from 12.15pm onwards. Those students who have a Resistant Materials exam in the afternoon must bring a spare shirt to be signed, as they will not be permitted into the examination room with writing on their school shirts. If you do not wish your son or daughter to leave school at lunch, please contact the school office.

Year 11 Leavers Prom
Mrs Rae and I have finalised the arrangements for this year’s leavers Prom at the Ramada on 22nd June, with arrival from 6.30pm, Students will need to be at the hotel by 7pm. I am sure this will be a wonderful evening where staff and students can celebrate their time at Stanley High School.

Year 11 Leavers Assembly
This will take place on Friday 23rd June at 11.30am in the main school hall. Students do not need to wear school uniform and will be in school for up to an hour. Please can students return any text books or revision materials to school and if parents wish to donate any unwanted school uniform please can this be brought in to the school office.

Student Leadership Team

Art
Mrs Ward’s creative work of the week goes to Oliwia Rutkowska in year 8 and also in Mrs Ward’s form.

Creative Work of the Week

Creative Work of the WeekOliwia has produced some excellent drawings which have been inspired by looking at Anime art work. Her inspiration comes from lots of different artists and not just one specific style, Oliwia decided to draw in the Anime art style because it was inspired her from an early age.

Well done and keep up the great work.

Drama
