A group of 15 Year 8 students took part in two STEM enrichment days on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday at Greenbank High School we completed many activities associated with space and the space environment including how objects react in the thinning atmosphere of space. On Tuesday they visited Welshpool and launched a balloon into space and tracked its route over the duration of the flight. All 15 students thoroughly enjoyed the day and explored how classroom-based activities can be directly linked to real-life experiments. A pigs eye and various metals were sent into space to see how they reacted to the thinning atmosphere and low temperatures.
