The arrival of the first-ever minibus at Southport’s Stanley High School is just the ticket, according to students and staff.
The whole school community has welcomed the delivery of the Peugeot Boxer vehicle which has been acquired with the help of funding from the Friends of Stanley High.
The 17-seater bus has been finished with an attractive livery in Stanley’s eye-catching royal blue and yellow school colours.
The Stanley High motto – Aspire Challenge Excel – is also featured in a prominent
position, ensuring that the minibus raises awareness of the school’s ethos throughout
Southport and beyond.
The new minibus will be used by the school to take students to and from a wide range of off-site activities, from sporting fixtures to theatre trips.
And according to Stanley High’s Business Manager, Anna Smith, the vehicle will help to streamline the school’s transport arrangements and reduce costs.
Mrs Smith explained: “Everyone is delighted with the new bus which is already getting a lot of use for a wide variety of activities for students of all ages.
“It’s going to be very useful for the school in the coming years, and we’re very grateful to the Friends of Stanley High whose support made it possible.”
The arrival of the new bus comes hot on the heels of another important development
at Stanley High, the opening of the school’s new state-of-the art 3G artificial football
The pitch has already proved a real boon during this winter’s extremely wet weather,
and is available for hire by other organisations and groups of friends outside school
