On Tuesday a number of students who are interested in a career in the health care profession attended Southport College. Students had the opportunity to attend a workshop where they were able to take blood from an artificial arm, carry out key hole surgery, take each other’s blood pressure and temperature, carry out a retina scan and monitor and record an ECG as well as a host of other activities.
Students were also able to see the huge range of jobs available within this sector. This was a great opportunity to have a ‘hands on experience’ of a career in Health and Social Care and we hope that it has inspired the students even more. Thank you to Mrs Rae and Miss Regan who accompanied the students.
