Love my Community
On Friday 15th February, we will be holding our annual Southport Learning Partnership ‘Love my Community’ day. This year we will be holding a ‘Go Orange Day’ for Muscular Dystrophy. Students are asked to wear something orange for a donation to charity; suggested minimum donation of £1.00. Students must wear full uniform but can accessorise with one item of orange which could be any item of clothing, as long as it is not too outrageous.
The Southport Learning Partnership consists of 4 High schools and 22 Primary schools, and each year they all get together to raise funds or donate in some way towards a charity, so please encourage your child to get involved, if possible, as every little bit helps and I am sure you will agree that Muscular Dystrophy is a very worthwhile cause.
The end of term will be on Friday 15th February at 3pm and Year 11 students will have a number of revision sessions available to them during the half term break, the timetable was issued this morning and will be available on the school website at the following link. Please encourage them to attend and if they are unsure what is available to speak to their individual teachers who will let them know what will be studied.
Year 11 Mock Exams commence week commencing 25th February and 4th March. Your child was given a copy of the timetable this morning, please see click on the link below the timetable
Year 11 Food Practical Examinations have been taking place this week and the feedback from staff who had the pleasure in tasting the food has been fantastic. The students have all worked very hard to produce some amazing plates of food – well done to all 44 students who were involved.
Year 8 Options

Miss Smithies is immensely proud and impressed with the outcomes from her students this week. The students have excelled far beyond their years and their commitment to the course is commendable. Miss Smithies would also like to thank parents for supporting the students with providing ingredients in preparation for the exam.
The local businesses in the area also contributed packaging upon the request of our students which has created some fantastic community links. The students are a pleasure to teach and they should be extremely proud of themselves.
The Year 9 football team played in a friendly match against Meols Cop this week giving a number of players the first chance to represent the school. Well done to the students who took part and the full football calendar will be starting back after the February half term.
