Headteacher’s update

We have finally arrived at the end of another school year and when I look back there has been such a lot that has happened, which I shared with the students today.

This is an opportunity for me to say a huge thank you to everyone who makes the school a wonderful place and to be at the heart of our community.

As Parents and Carers you give us your support in everything we do and particularly as partners in the learning and development of your children. Without your support, our school community would not be the place it is and your children wouldn’t have the opportunities they enjoy so much. We all know that this isn’t always easy with the busy lives that we all lead and it is amazing to me sometimes, that you manage to give us the support you do – thank you.

Start of Term arrangements

For the first week Year 7 students will finish at 2.50pm and then normal time of 3pm from week commencing 10th September.

I wish you all a happy and enjoyable summer break.

Montgenevre Ski Trip 2019

The students attending the ski trip are excitedly organising themselves for the visit. However, one of the group has unfortunately had to withdraw from the trip, so a place has become available. If your child would like to go, please contact Mr Lock for further information.

Young Everyman Playhouse award-winning youth arts programme. Since its launch in 2012 Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) has provided opportunities for young people aged 14-25, no matter their circumstances. Across six different strands, YEP encourages the young people to see theatre in a new light by asking them to create many exciting experiences for different audiences.

Previous Young Everyman Playhouse members are now applying to drama schools, bidding for funding for their own projects, pressing for work experience among our team and joining with other groups locally and nationally to programme and create work.

There are also six different YEP strands; Actors, Directors, Marketers, Producers, Technicians and Writers.

The closing dates vary starting from August to September depending which strand you are applying to.

Creative Work of the Week

Year 7 have really excelled themselves this week, with their typography homework project. They were challenged to work in groups or on their own to create one letter from the word Art. The best letters are going to form the new ART sign for September. A big thanks from Mrs Ward for working so hard.

Year 7 Roald Dahl Revolting Rhymes

Year 7 were fantastic in their performances on the afternoon of Friday 13th. Thank you to the parents who came to support and enjoy the experience with the rest of the year group.

Miss Cassidy was extremely proud of everyone, a huge well done to all involved!

We have a target of 95% attendance and work hard every day to beat this. The whole school attendance for week ending 13th July 2018 was 94%.
