Extra-curricular Activities

The school offers a wide range of extra curricular activities, some exam focused, whilst others offer personal development opportunities. Below is a list of the sessions currently on offer to students.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
Year 10 and 11 DoE sessions will take place on Fridays in Room 44 from 3-4pm weekly. Year 9 students will have an Assembly after October half term where they will have the opportunity to enrol for the Bronze Award in November. Any questions can be discussed with Mr Hooton who is the DoE co-ordinator at school.

Craft Club
Every Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-1:55pm. In the Farm with Mrs Regan and Mrs Emmit. Open to all students – just bring along your enthusiasm and ideas.

Art
A GCSE coursework/homework catch up session will take place on Wednesdays at 3-4pm.

Art club will take place on Tuesdays at 3-4pm in Room 43

Drama
Drama Club is every Wednesday in Room 33 for any student who would like to come along, from 3-4pm.

Geography
Drop in sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3-4pm.

History
Drop in sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3-4pm.

Mathematics
GCSE Maths revision session on Wednesday from 3-4pm in Room 1.
KS3 Maths drop-in session on Monday and Wednesday after school from 3-4pm in Room 5.

Music
Music club is on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes and after school at 3-4pm. This is an informal ‘drop-in’ for students to come and practice on the instruments.

PE
 Badminton sessions will take place in the Sports Hall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes. There is also Badminton in the Sports Hall on Friday after school.

Handball is in the Sports Hall on Thursday lunchtime.

Volleyball is in the Sports Hall on Friday lunchtimes.

Year 11 Football sessions take place on the 3G after school on Friday.

Basketball sessions are after school in the Sports Hall on Monday; Week A (Year 7,8); Week B (Year 9,10).

Cricket is in the Sports every Tuesday and Thursday, after school.

Athletics is every Monday and Wednesday, after school on the field.

Rounders is on a Tuesday, after school on the field.

Dance
Dance sessions take place in the Gym after school every Wednesday and Friday.

RE
Homework help Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 3-4pm.

Reading Club
Year 7 and 8 Reading Club is open every Thursday lunchtime in Room 7

Science
Science club for Year 7 and 8 students will take place on Wednesdays at 3pm in Room 19

Technology
Tech Tuesday – All GCSE Catering, Graphics and Resistant Materials students are able to catch up with their Technology subjects on Tuesdays at 3-4pm in Rooms 44, 45 and 46. Coursework, model making, sketching, practical, help and advice.

Wheelie Wednesday – every Wednesday in Room 46 from 3-4pm, for general bike and kit maintenance. Brakes, cleaning your bike, lube your chain, how to fix a puncture, help and advice.
