Year 11 students are working on a landscape project called ‘A Sense of Place’ for their GCSE art coursework. They have to research the work of other artists to inspire and develop their own ideas.

They have just completed some interesting representations of urban landscapes by British artist Paul Kenton. Kenton’s work depicts the energy, movement and the bright lights at night-time in capital cities around the world. The students had to move out of their comfort zones, experimenting with new techniques and media in order to create these pieces which I think are exciting and expressive.
