Mrs ShaweHeadteacher’s update

Good afternoon Stanley Families

It is hard to believe that we are now at the end of June and the school year is slowly coming to an end.   At Stanley High School this means we actually rev up and prepare our students to be September ready, we continue with the same high expectations and the same high-quality learning experiences right until the end.

This week we had a lovely day meeting our new students and families who are joining us next year. They had a lovely day in the school, meeting new friends and our staff and finding their way around their new school.  Our older students set an exemplary tone and showed just how proud they are to be members of the school.

We have had a number of sporting events and trips this week and next week, where again our students represented the school with their impeccable behaviour and manners, shown to those around them.

As we draw towards the end of a half term, please support us with keeping great routines at home.  I know that often children find it harder to sleep when it is warmer and lighter.  Tired and hungry teenagers do not always cope with their emotions well.  Please remember that we have a breakfast service in school, should your child want to eat when they get into school.

Finally, this week, I would like to thank the families who support us every single day, I’m sending out these thanks in light of further strike days which are taking place next week.  I appreciate your support with the response we are having to take.  Please see communications regarding industrial actions for next week Wednesday 4th July and Friday 7th July.
