Headteacher’s update

Good afternoon Stanley Families

This week has been an extremely busy and fulfilling time for our Year 11 students.  All week has been our ‘Steps after Stanley’ focus and the students have embraced it with enthusiasm and interest.  Monday morning started with them receiving their Mock Exam results and then Tuesday and Wednesday they had Mock Interviews and Runshaw College Interviews.  All the students were impeccable in their behaviour and demeanour, to the point that we had multiple positive comments from the external visitors.  I am beyond proud.

Some of our students have also taken part in their Food exams this week and the results were restaurant worthy, all of the staff involved commented on how fabulous the menus looked and tasted and the presentation was something to behold.

To end the week, Year 11 also had their Parent/Carer evening and the turnout was exceptional.  They will have received detailed advice and guidance to move them forward to their GCSE Exams and they were also given the timetable for the next block of Mock Exams.  If you were unable to attend, please contact the office in the first instance and we can make alternative arrangements.

Thank you to all that have completed the family survey, this information is invaluable to us to ensure that we hear your voice and make improvements.

This week I have sent out information relating to the proposed strike action taking place in February and March.  If you did not receive this, please contact the office and we will ensure you get the relevant information.

Have a wonderful weekend.
