On Friday Miss Smithies talented Year 10 food students, Louis, Holly and Charlie took part in the yearly competition to produce a two course meal. This is a great opportunity for them to experience working in the professional kitchens at Southport College and to show off their culinary skills.
All 3 students were a real credit to the school with the judges being very impressed with the high standards, skills and presentation of this year’s dishes.
Well done to Holly who gained a well-deserved 1st place with her Sausage Plait followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding. Also to Louis who gained 3rd place with his Chicken and Charlie who was complimented on his Baked Salmon.
A big thank you to their parents who have supported them in practising their dishes. We wish Holly lots of luck as she now goes on to the next heat, taking place at Coleg Cambria. Thank you to Mrs Bowers for accompanying them.
