Good afternoon Stanley Families
Firstly, Congratulations to our North Sefton Boys Athletics Champions 2023!
What incredible weather we are having. And what better way than to spend these lovely days being in school and work. This week we have allowed students to not wear their blazers and ties in school. Luckily light white shirts lend themselves beautifully to the warm weather and thankfully the building remains pleasant in most areas. Expectations on uniform will be decided on daily.
We are encouraging students to refill their bottles with water during lesson change overs, breaks and lunchtimes and have plenty of facilities for this to take place. Please ensure you child is bringing their re-usable bottle in to school.
The Year 11 GCSE season is nearly over. We have our final examinations taking place next week followed by Prom and their leavers assembly.
I am really excited for Year 10 students over the next few weeks as they will visit local post-16 education providers and begin thinking about their steps beyond Stanley High School. It is hard to believe that in just a years’ time they will be leaving us.
Over this week and next I have taken more time to get into lessons (more than normal) and see what I really enjoy – enthusiastic students enjoying learning, showing natural concentration, and experiencing great learning opportunities.
Excellent manners is something I have noticed more frequently in school over the recent weeks, the ability to show great manners without being prompted is an absolute skill which will have our children making great impressions to all the humans they meet in life.
Tonight our young dancers are performing at the Atkinson Centre for the Wally Cain Dance Festival – I cannot wait to see the performances.
Your children are incredible. Have a fantastic weekend.
