Headteacher’s update

Dear Stanley Families

Well, when the day starts with a bit of sledging and a snowman (a tiny one) created before 7.15am you know the day is off to a good start.

This week has seen the Year 10 students continue to embrace their Mock Examinations.  As with last week they have taken on the challenge and excelled.  Please congratulate them for their continued engagement with the exam process and discuss how they have felt and what they feel they could do better.  This will encourage them to process their own feelings and should they wish to discuss those further, they can speak with their Form Tutor, Year Leader Mr Venables, or their subject teacher if one particular subject has given them concern.

Yesterday we welcomed our Year 8 Parent/Carers into school for the Year 8 consultation afternoon.  What a delight it was to see so many parent/carers and students in attendance.  If you were unable to attend the afternoon or to get an appointment with a particular subject, please contact your child’s Form Tutor or Year Leader Miss Kent, who will be able to discuss this with you further.
